Obituary of Gordon Daryl LaClaire

Gordon (Gord) LaClaire, beloved husband of Kim LaClaire of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at the age of 48 years. Gord was born on April 20, 1956 in Shellbrook, SK. He started his sales career in Edmonton and made it to the “summit” in Calgary where he was at the top of his game in Pharmaceutical Sales. He touched all those that he met through his kindness, energy and humour. He had an insatiable zest for love, life and adventure. Gord truly loved life and took great pleasure in his golf game, skiing and the serenity of the cabin at the lake. Family always came first. His warm smile and sparkling eyes always made family and friends welcome and comfortable in their home. Gord will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and honesty, and during his journey, made many lifelong friends. His strong spirit and determination won the admiration of all those who knew him. Gord leaves behind a loving family, his beloved wife Kim of twenty-three years; two sons, Kevin (15) and Mark (11); his mother Maizie LaClaire; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Fred and Sharon LaClaire, and Ken LaClaire; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Lorne Person, Joyce and Frank Roggeveen, and Delores and Larry Nordell. He also leaves behind his father and mother-in-law, Noel and Isabel Gauthier; brother-in-law Steve (Gabrielle) Gauthier; sister-in-law, Patricia (John) Laporte; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Gord was predeceased by his father Louis LaClaire. A Celebration of Gord’s Life will be held at McInnis and Holloway’s Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, January 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
