Obituary of Roberta Lee Donnelly

Roberta Lee Donnelly, beloved wife of Mark Donnelly of Calgary, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2005 after a difficult and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 47 years. Roberta was a dedicated employee in the Treasury Department at Petro-Canada for twenty-five years. She will be missed by all her colleagues and the good friends she acquired through both her work career and personal life. Roberta and Mark met while each traveling around Europe and were married in Abbotsford, BC in 1977, before settling in Calgary. Roberta quite enjoyed many of life’s simpler pleasures; from planting and nurturing her flowers, to reading a good book in the shade of a sunny afternoon, summer camping vacations, and dining with family and friends. More recently Roberta developed a broad appreciation of many forms of music, attending numerous live performances including those of Mark’s. Roberta bravely tolerated Mark’s ongoing home renovation projects eventually being pleased and proud of the results they achieved together. Roberta will be forever missed by Mark, her loving husband and best friend, and their daughters, Megan and Caitlin Donnelly. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Abe and Dodie Froese of Abbotsford, BC; her sisters, Vicky (Mark), Tammy, and Peggy (Dave); her brother Charles (Suzy); father and mother-in-law, James and Pat Donnelly; sister-in-law Martha-Jane; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Sandi) and Tom (Shelley); and by numerous nieces and nephews. Roberta was predeceased by her mother Miriam.
