Obituary of Myrna Jane Webster

Myrna Jane Webster passed away on January 21, 2005 after a long illness at the age of 68 years. Myrna was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. She moved to Edmonton to complete her nursing training where she met and married her husband Don in 1956. As the proverbial strong woman behind the man, Myna was the supportive force in her husband’s life and career. She loved the travel involved in her husband’s work and managed many family moves to and from overseas. Myrna’s travels took her to Peru for three years, Ghana for several months, and to Trinidad, England and Europe for shorter visits. Myrna was a formidable woman. Her intellect and wit were amazing. Her vocabulary and crossword puzzle skills were unmatched. She was incredibly well-read and well-informed. She loved holding forth and enjoyed nothing better than a heated, well-reasoned debate. She took much pleasure in cats, naps, playing bridge and Trivial Pursuit. Myrna is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Kathryn (Phil) Johnson, Donald (Shelley), and Geoffrey (Peg); and by her grandchildren, Kendall, Jocelyn, Donald, Sydney, Benjamin, and Megan. Myrna was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Donald, who died in March, 2004; and her brother Knox, who died in October, 2003. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
