Obituary of H. Stan Williams
H. “Stan” Williams, beloved husband of Lil Williams of Claresholm (formerly of Calgary), passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the age of 69 years.
Stan was born on October 4, 1935 in St. John, NB. He attended the University of New Brunswick where he excelled in the sports of football, basketball, water polo, and soccer. During the summer breaks, Stan was a pilot with the R.C.A.F. and wandered the wilds of northern Canada working for Montreal Engineering. He received his BSc. in Civil Engineering in 1958. During his extensive travels as an engineer, he met and married his wife Lil on May 26, 1962 in Kirkland Lake, ON. They eventually settled in Calgary, AB where Stan continued his career with Monenco until starting his own consulting business in 1986. Stan was very dedicated to the engineering profession. He was also a family man who enjoyed sharing the fun side of life with everyone. His greatest pleasures were working on his acreage and showing off his prize donkeys.
Besides his loving wife Lil, Stan is survived by his sons, Kenneth and Gordon, both of Calgary. He is also survived by his twin sister and her husband, Anne and Bill Perry of Long Reach, NB; a brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Eileen Williams of Regina, SK; a brother-in-law, Gordon and Sandra Killins of Marathon, ON; (grandchildren, Cameron and Jessica Parnell) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Steven Williams (1989); parents, Frank and Zaidee Williams; and mother-in-law Eva Killins (2003).
