Obituary of Karen Vivian Chalmers

Karen Vivian Chalmers of Calgary passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, January 14, 2005, due to a severe asthma attack. Left to mourn her passing are her devoted mother, Mary Irene Chalmers, her best-friends and allies, nephews, Knut and Olav Rokne; sister Angela Rokne; and brother-in-law Jon Rokne; as well as aunt, uncle and cousin Pat, Bill and Graeme Scott of BC; and numerous relatives in Scotland and England. Karen led a quiet life of tranquil joys within the embrace of her close family. She never once said or did a thing that might hurt another. Karen was a person who struggled with various health issues and the family remain grateful for the constant support of the staff of the Foothills Medical Centre and of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Karen’s family decline flowers and request that any donations be made to charities of their choice. The family is grateful that Karen no longer suffers the callousness of Ralph Klein’s AISH pronouncements, nor further depredations to our Public Health System. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Karen Chalmers, a tree will be planted at Nose Creek Valley by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH. Telephone: (403) 276-2296.
