Obituary of Harvey Grant Olsen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey Grant Olsen beloved husband of Liz on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the age of 71 years. Harvey was born in High River, AB on November 26, 1933, the youngest son of Darce and Thyra Olsen. He spent his early years on the family farm in Brant, AB and then moved with the family to High River where his dad ran the town garage. At age eleven Harvey and his family moved to his beloved mecca of Beiseker where he and his life long friends created many memories that brought great joy all his life. In 1954, he moved to Calgary and began his forty year profession in the Oil and Gas industry starting with Anglo American. During his successful career Harvey had many good times and created lasting friendships that he dearly cherished. Working as a Geologist he was employed with Sinclair, Cigol, Norcen, MacCallum and Stewart, Unocal and Mannville. In 1990, he retired and enjoyed his time caring for and having fun with family and close friends. Harvey will be dearly missed and remembered by his wife Liz; their children, Tyler and Andrea; as well as his older children, David (Dorothy), and Nancy (Scott) Inglis; their mother Marilyn; four grandchildren, Kali, Braeden, Sierra, and Ella; mother Thyra; and brother Stanley (Barbara). Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
