She received her teaching certificate in Moose Jaw, SK and began her teaching in small country schools. She continued teaching after their move to Calgary in 1966, after raising her children. She especially loved to work with the young children in French Immersion. Thereseand Phil enjoyed many, many winters in Arizona with their numerous friends and family members. She so enjoyed their many activities which included bowling, painting, playing cards, billiards, water exercises, walking and endless dinner parties. Therese was a woman of very strong faith. She set an excellent example through her volunteer work and generosity. Therese taught religious classes to children on Saturdays, was an active CWL Member, a Eucharistic Minister and a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Charity. She had many charities that she generously supported, including the White Father Missionaries, funding seminarians from developing countries, Foster Parents Plan and many more. Terri always said that family was the most important thing and her family was blessed to call her theirs. Therese will be sadly missed by her husband Phil, her three children and their spouses, Roger, Michelle (Tom) Bishop, Ray (Glennis), and by her grandchildren, who gave her enormous joy, Erin and Kaitlin Bishop; and Connor, Zachary and Isabella Gauvin; her brothers and their spouses, Raymond and Fernande Chabot, Edmond and Odile Chabot and her sister Yolande Proulx and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
