Obituary of Crawler Sr.

It is with great sadness the Creator peacefully called home his beloved angel Lou (Ade) Crawler on Wednesday, January 5, 2005. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Gwen Ryder; his children, Lorna Bearspaw (Dave), Frank Crawler (Glenda), Lou Crawler Jr., Rosemarie (Stan), Delphine Rider (Derrick), Lenora Crawler, the Mark family and the Crawler family. He was preciously cherished and will be missed forever by his twenty-four grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Lou (Ade) has now journeyed into the eternal life to join his parents, Sarah and George Crawler; his son’s, Chester Rider in 2000 and Clarence Rider in 1996; step-son Morris Rider in 2003; daughter Patricia Rider in 1985; grandchild Kelsie Rider in 2004; grandson Randy Bearspaw in 2001; and great-grandchild Gabrielle in 1998. Lou (Ade) wanted everyone to live life to the fullest and to live in peace with each other. He dedicated and devoted his life to his family, especially the young children. He loved them all equally and dearly. Lou (Ade) grew up and preserved through his residential schooling, he also served his community as a counselor. He took pride in his traditional culture through arts and crafts, bead working and music. Lou (Ade) was a very respected and honoured for his kindness and consideration to those who knew him. He achieved his accomplishments in life, raising all his children with the moral teachings of our traditional values and beliefs. He lived a long and blissful life and is now finally at peace. Wake Services will be held at Lou Crawler’s residence on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Monday, January 10, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Chiniki Cemetery (Morley, AB). The family would like to thank Dr. Jane Fowke and the nursing staff at St. Martha’s Place in Banff, AB and all who gave their time to care for and comfort him during his medical hardships. The family apologizes for those who we forgot to mention, for there were many special people in his life.
