Ella Sandford

Obituary of Ella Margaret Sandford

The circle of life is complete for Mom. She had a wonderful life and a spirit that never diminished even when her independence was no longer possible. Mom passed away peacefully in the warm and loving atmosphere of the Beverly Care Center with family by her side. Mom was blessed with optimism, a quick wit and a love of repartee. She was never happier than with family, friends and a glass of wine on the “Liar’s Roost” at her beloved Deep Bay. She was an avid sportswoman, a beautiful sewer, gardener, musician, lover of languages, travel and writing. And laughter! How she enjoyed sparring with those who dared! Mom has left a legacy of happy memories to her five grandchildren who joined their Nana and Poppa for summer vacations at their ocean front retreat. In 2003 and 2004 she realized her dream of becoming a great grandma when Craig and Betty welcomed two beautiful daughters – Devon and Tasha. Mom has been the hub of our family for so long – even during the loss of our Dad, Reg, and the gradual loss of her health. It has been a sad good-bye but she has left us all with so very much. You did it with such style, Mom. Soar with the eagles! Lovingly from Sharon and Bob Young, Shelby, Craig, Betty, Devon and Tasha; Donna and Brian Ross, Hayden (Le), Duncan (Natascha), and Courtney (Daniel) A Summer Memorial Service will be announced later.
