It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pasquale (Joe) DeGiuseppe on January 1, 2005 after a courageous battle with illness. He passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him dearly. Pasquale was born in Torano Castello, Cosenza, Italy on January 7, 1939 and immigrated to Calgary in 1957. He will always be remembered for his loving persona and his passion for gardening and soccer. Joe was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends and will be dearly missed and never forgotten by all those who were touched by his wonderful spirit. He is survived by his children Brian and Lisa (Wayne) Heddinger and his two grandchildren Ryan and Matthew, all of Calgary; brothers and sisters, Francesco (Olga), Emanuele, Biagina (Romano) Iannace, and Teresa (Italo) Darosa; the mother of his children, Yvonne Neufeld; his companion Jo-Anne Foster; as well as several nieces and nephews. Pasquale was predeceased by his mother and father Filomena and Vincenzo DeGiuseppe. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, January 7, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Emanuel Buttigieg, Presider Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who said prayers for Pasquale. They would also like to thank all the staff in the Intensive Care Unit of the Peter Lougheed Centre for their kindness and tireless efforts.
