Obituary of Margaret Hepburn Ramage Borak

Margaret Hepburn Ramage Borak (nee MacFayden) passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the age of 94 years. Margaret was born in Windygates, Scotland on August 1, 1910. She came to Canada with her family in 1920 and homesteaded east of Innisfail, AB. She attended Calgary Normal School and became the first teacher in Caroline, AB teaching grades one through twelve in a one room schoolhouse. After teaching, she worked as an Office Assistant and helped her husband Nick run their landscaping business for many years. Margaret loved to paint and knit, and never missed her weekly bingo game. Margaret is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Ellen Borak; her brother Hugh McFayden and her daughter-in-law Del Borak. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren Ian and Diana and her many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Nick, her son Robert and her sister Violet Piens. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Rita M. Cattell officiating.
