Obituary of Leslie Albert Kowalski

Leslie (Les) Albert Kowalski, beloved husband of Gladys of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Les was born in Kenaston, SK and started his working life on the farm. When World War II started, he joined the R.C.A.F. and was stationed in England. It was there he met and married Gladys. Les was transferred back to Canada and worked on the CPR and golf course in Revelstoke, BC, as a Dairy Farmer in the Calgary/Cochrane area, and as a Correctional Officer at Calgary Provincial Jail, before retiring to Anglemont, BC. He moved back to Calgary and spent the last five years at the Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore. Besides Gladys, his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Leslie will be remembered by his four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jean and Howard Edes, Lynn Epp, Margaret and Austin Findlater and Cathy and Doug Dunham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Elaine Kowalski and Lorne and Linda Kowalski; sixteen grandchildren, Darren (Shannon), Henry, Tracy (Mike) Schlosser, Tammy Posein, Sue White, Blaine (Deb) Epp, Robert (Kelly) Epp, Carla (Mike) Camac, Brenda Kowalski (Marcello), Brian and James Kowalski, Candace Findlater, Robert and Kevin (Amanda) Johnston, Stacy (Lisa) and Rodney Kowalski; as well as eleven special great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brother-in-law Louise Sinnett and Laverne and Mal Land. Les was predeceased by his son Dave in 1999.
