Obituary of Betty Geraldine Elkins

Betty Geraldine Elkins, beloved wife of Ernie, of Calgary passed away suddenly at the Rockyview General Hospital on December 16, 2004 at the age of 77 years. Betty was born on August 22, 1927 in Calgary, AB. She grew up in small towns in Central Alberta. Betty moved to Calgary in 1945 and worked for AGT until her marriage to Ernest Elkins in 1949. She was a member of the Southern Alberta Pioneers Association for forty years. Betty loved Hawaii and thought of it as her second home. She enjoyed many wonderful holidays there with her family. She was a kind and generous person and a loving wife and mother. Besides her loving husband Ernie, Betty is survived by her three daughters, Laura Leedham and Reg Schneidmiller, Debbie Elkins and Reed Vickers and Susan and Mark Hughes; and her son, Geoff and Maxine Elkins. She will also be missed by her six grandchildren, Matthew Schmidt, Kendra Schmidt, Hayley Hughes, Jasmine Vickers, Jade Elkins, and Liam Elkins. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. R. H. Grant Rodgers officiating.
