Obituary of Vincenzo Giovanni Mangone

Vincenzo Giovanni Mangone was called into the arms of Jesus on Friday, December 17, 2004, while surrounded by his loving family. Vincenzo was born on October 12, 1913 in Castelsilano, Catanzaro, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1957. His wife and children joined him in 1959. Vincenzo worked in the construction business until he retired in 1976. During his retirement he tended his garden, made wine and enjoyed his family and friends. Vincenzo’s charm and sense of humour endeared him to all. Vincenzo is survived by daughter and son-in-law Caterina and Paolo Aiello; son and daughter-in-law Luigi and Caterina Greco Mangone; along with five grandchildren and spouses, Vincenzo and Anita Aiello, Giovanni and Christina Aiello, Rosina and Edmilson Rodrigues, Carolina Mangone and Gianni Mangone, along with two great-grandchildren, Avrille and Vianna Aiello, all from Calgary. Vincenzo also leaves behind his siblings, Giuseppe of France, Rosalia Gentile of Fernie, BC, Salvatore of Vancouver, Caterina Gentile of France, and Antonio of Fernie, BC. Vincenzo was predeceased by his wife of sixty-seven years, Carolina on October 29, 2004; as well as his sister Teresa of France and brother Francesco of Calgary. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) Monday, December 20, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Emanuel Buttigieg, Presider. Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
