Obituary of Frederick Coulson Greaves

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Greaves, beloved husband of forty-eight years of Aline Greaves, after a valiant battle with cancer at the Foothills Medical Centre on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at the age of 70 years. Fred was born on May 21, 1934 in Evansburg, AB the youngest child of Bessie and Harry Greaves. Fred enjoyed a successful and marvelous career in the Petroleum Industry that together with Aline, allowed them to travel and experience many fascinating countries and diverse cultures. Fred loved his work and came into his own leading and teaching others about the Oil and Gas Industry. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his family: daughters, Sue Carr (Dave), Linda McFadden; sons, Robert Greaves (Susi), Thomas Greaves (Fiona), and also his brother, H. Thomas Greaves (Beryl) of Edmonton. He will also be deeply missed by the joys of his life, his grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrea Marasco, Christine and Tara Carr, Ben, Liam, and Coulson Greaves, and Olivia and Erin Greaves; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Fred was pre-deceased by his parents as well as his sister Annie Tucker of Evansburg, AB Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church (1611 St. Andrew’s Place N.W.) on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery at a later date.
