Obituary of Harry Wagner Clark

Harry (Hap) Wagner Clark, beloved husband of Elsie Adeline (Campbell) Clark, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on December 7, 2004, at the age of 87. Hap and Elsie were married sixty-two years ago in Emo, ON on August 17, 1942. Hap was born in Virden, MB, on April 21, 1917. At the age of nineteen, Hap moved to Fort Frances, ON, where he got a job with Western Grocers so that he could play baseball. His career with Western Grocers (Westfair Foods) took him to Edmonton in 1953, then to North Battleford, SK in 1963, and finally to Calgary in 1966 where he was Manager until his retirement in 1982. Besides his loving wife Elsie, Hap will be remembered by his four children and their families, daughter Pam Bednar and husband Larry of Calgary, granddaughters Jeannine of Johannesburg, SA and Emily Kolaczek and husband Andy of Calgary; son Earl Clark and wife Deborah, grandchildren Sandy and Janelle, all of Melbourne, Australia; son Glen Clark and wife Deborah, grandsons Brandon and Logan, and step-grandchildren Jennifer and Sean O’Brien, Natalya and Jesena Andoney, all of Calgary; and daughter Heather Kembel and husband Gary, grandchildren Graeme and Evelyn, all of Yarker, ON. Hap is also survived by his brother Jim Clark of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Mary Clark of North Vancouver; and numerous nieces and nephews. As Hap would say – “He was a rich man – he had the love of so many.” Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev.
