Obituary of Peggy Carruthers
Margaret (Peggy) Carruthers of Calgary passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on Friday, December 3, 2004 at the age of 84 years.
Peggy was born in Liverpool, England on June 15, 1920. During World War II, she served in the British Army where she met Canadian officer, Thomas Carruthers and immigrated to Canada as a war bride. Peggy worked at the Supreme Court in Edmonton for many years. After retirement, she moved to Calgary and gained a wonderful community of friends at the Watergrove Mobile Home Park. Peggy is survived by her children and their spouses Christopher and Kate Cameron of West Yorkshire, England; Linda and Andy Wallace of Bellingham, Washington; Patricia Carruthers and Donald Angus of Calgary; Barbara and Wade Pederson of Creston, BC, nine grandchildren, Roy, Diane, Matthew, Tiffany, Joy, Jill, Brent, Adam, and Pilar; and six great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Brayden, Chase, Paris, Oliver and Cole. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Carruthers.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
