Obituary of Alec Richardson

Alec Richardson, beloved husband of Dora of Calgary passed away at the Rosedale Hospice on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Alec was born in Neepawa, MB on November 20, 1923, and was raised in Melfort, SK. Alec enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces at an early age and served in the U.K. and European Theatres of War where he played a part in the June 6, 1944 D-Day landing in France. Upon returning to civilian life, he married Dora and moved to Calgary. Over the years, Alec made many friends while working for the C.P.R., A.L.C.B. and Pan Canadian. He was a member of the Concord 124 Masonic Fraternity and the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 264. Alec is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years Dora; his children, Colin, Brian, Sharon (Mike) Banning and Earl; his grandchildren, Cameron, Jeremy, Jennifer and Megan Banning, Aaron and Sonja Richardson; a brother James of Edmonton; a special niece and nephew Doris and Willie; other relatives; as well as good friends and neighbours. Alec always enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and listening to their escapades. A private family internment will take place at the Olds Cemetery, Olds, AB.
