Obituary of Bryan West

It is with great sorrow we announce the death of Bryan George West, of Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the age of 85 years. Born in Newcastle-On-Tyne, England on September 8, 1919. Bryan and his family arrived from England in 1928 living in the Taber area for several years. Later he came to Calgary and attended Crescent Heights High School. He joined the army in 1940 and became a Captain in the Princess Patricia Light Infantry. He married Gladys in 1942. In 1946 he began working as a Credit Manager until his retirement from Universal Sales and Services in 1984. He loved golfing, traveling, and kept in touch with the many happenings in and around Calgary. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys (1996) and his son Rodney (1982). He is survived by his special friend Pauline McCartney; his children Gail (Arnold) Boyko, Teresa (Leo) Coninx, Brian (Jean) West and Janet (Ross) Davis. He will be sadly missed by his fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joy Hunter of Toronto, ON, Patricia Fleck of Portland, Oregon USA: and his brother Derek (Marie) West of Medicine Hat, AB and their families. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev.
