Obituary of Collette Gibbons
Collette Gibbons, beloved wife of Chris Gibbons of Calgary, passed away at the Rosedale Hospice on Saturday, November 27, 2004, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 52 years.
Collette was born on September 11, 1952 in Windsor, ON where she was raised, as well. She married Chris on May 17, 1975 in Ontario and moved to Calgary in February of 1989. Collette enjoyed a long career working with Special Needs children and helping others. She will be remembered for her wonderful outgoing personality and being full of life. Besides being a great wife to her husband Chris, Collette was a wonderful mother to Chris Gibbons Jr. and Jennie Gibbons, both of Calgary. She is also survived by eight siblings, John Paul, Roger, Frank, Richard (Whitey), Janet, Bernard, Phillip, and Michelle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Collette was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Herman Durocher; and brother Norbert.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. William Stephenson, Presider.
