Obituary of Virginia Obligacion

Virginia Obligacion, beloved wife of Mr. Rodolfo Obligacion of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the age of 76 years. Virginia was born December 9, 1927 in Vigan Ilocos Norte, Philippines. At the young age of twelve, she started her singing career and recorded her first album with her sister. In 1974, Virginia and her family immigrated to Canada. She will always be remembered by her family as a great source of strength, their jewel of energy. Besides her loving husband, Virginia is survived by her children and their spouses, Josephine Valenciano and Oscar Cardozo, Dan and Barbara Obligacion, Ed and Jeanette Obligacion, Nestor and Edna Obligacion, Ramon and Victoria Obligacion; and Marian Rodriguez. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hazel and her husband Martino, Almond and his wife Cynthia, Neilsen, Fallon and her husband Jon, Ivan and his wife Victoria, Princess, Ian, Valerie, Remi, Shane and his wife Jen, Nesline and her husband Rob, K.C., Vanessa, Cheyanne, Kyra, Charlene and her husband Jason, and Chantelle; as well as her great-grandchildren, Curtis, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Cole, Elle, Mataeo and Kai; as well as her sister Erlinda Torres and family and the Gutierrez family. Virginia was predeceased by her sister Manuela and her son Rodolfo Jr. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Thursday, November 25, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.
