Obituary of Mario Marin

It is with great sadness that we announce Mario Marin, widowed husband of Antonietta of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 15, 2004 at the age of 71 years. Mario was born on January 31, 1933 in San Giacomo Di Veglia, Treviso, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He worked hard as a Tile Setter for thirty years and then as a Maintenance Man for the Prince Royal Inn until his retirement in 1995. Mario took great joy and pride in spending time with his family and dearly loved his five grandchildren. In his earlier years he enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing his accordion, listening to Italian music, dancing, storytelling and making wine. He had a smile for everyone, loved to laugh and was always ready to have a party and open his home to his family and friends for a glass of vino. Left behind to carry on his traditions are his daughters, Miryam and her husband Eric Szczepaniak and their children, Nicholas, and Mitchell, and his daughter Manuela and her husband David Frederickson and their children, Michael, Lucas and Dominique. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Gloria, Maria and Rina; and numerous other relatives in Europe, the United States and Canada. We love you and you will forever be in our hearts. Ciao Ciao Papa, Nonno and friend.
