Obituary of Gordon Fordyce

Gordon Fordyce of Calgary passed away peacefully at AgapÚ Hospice on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the age of 81 wonderful years. Gordon is survived and will be lovingly remembered by Trudy, his beloved wife of fifty-seven years; daughters, Susan Fordyce, and Cindy Diduck (Dan); son David (Arlene); grandchildren, Jeffrey and Rob Diduck, and Jordan Fordyce. He also leaves one brother Clare (Marg) of Oliver, BC. Gordon was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and at eighteen he joined the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion and served overseas in World War II. Gordon and Trudy moved to Calgary in 1962, where he worked in Auto Leasing until his retirement. Gordon was actively involved with the Arab Patrol of the Alazhar Shriners, the Gyro Club, and other service clubs throughout his life. He also proudly participated in veterans’ activities with comrades of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. Gordon will be sadly missed for his wonderful sense of humour, his kindness and generosity, his love of life, and his devotion to family and friends.
