Obituary of M. Joan Rawlinson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of M. Joan Rawlinson, for sixty-two years beloved wife of John, devoted mother of Rosalind (Sr. Mary Rose FCJ), Pamela (Mme Claude LeVallÚe) and Margaret (Mme Pierre Boulanger). She was “Gran’mama” to four grandchildren, Jean-Charles, Charl_ne, Jeanne and Annie-Claude, and a great grandson, Samuel. Joan leaves behind two sisters, Rosalind McWilliams in Northern Ireland and Florence Fitzpatrick in Regina, a brother and his wife, James and Sydney Williams in Medicine Hat, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan’s first love was for her family and cherished friends, and we shall all miss her gentle strength and guidance very much. Perhaps her second love was for her flower garden both indoors and out and she spent many happy hours `playing plants’. She was for years an active member of the Women’s League of the Calgary Philharmonic with a particular interest in the annual Benny the Bookworm sale. The family wishes to express their gratitude for and admiration of the loving and caring nurses and staff of Calgary Palliative Home Care. In lieu of flowers friends may wish to make a donation to the Alberta branch of the Canadian Cancer Society. Announcements later by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W., TELEPHONE: (403) 243-8200.
