Obituary of Serena Albaladejo Pascual

Serena Pascual, beloved wife of Alfredo L. Pascual of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at the age of 66 years. Serena was born in Iloilo City, Philippines. After the Second World War, her family moved to Manila where she continued school and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of the Philippines. In 1968, she and Alfredo immigrated to Canada settled in Winnipeg, MB. After two years, they moved to Calgary. She later furthered her studies in the United States finishing a Master of Arts in Librarianship degree from the University of Denver in 1975. Serena worked for Amoco Canada Petroleum Co. Ltd. until her retirement in 1992. We will miss her pleasant ways with people and her infectious laugh. Besides her loving husband, Serena is survived by a sister Edith Dizon-Fitz Simmons of Shepparton, Australia; nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. She was predeceased by her parents, Elviro and Cristeta; and three brothers, Elviro Jr., Moderno and Lauron. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, November 13, 2004 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, November 14, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. with the Pastor Benjamin Santos officiating.
