Obituary of Kazys Vaitkunas
Kazys (Charlie) Vaitkunas of Calgary passed away at home on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at the age of 85 years.
Charlie was born on December 6, 1918 in Zarasai, Lithuania. He received his Secondary education in Rome where he graduated with his Agriculture degree. He emigrated to Canada in 1949 where he began to work at various farms. In 1952, he went to work for Joe and Adela Karpa at the Royal Crown Hotel in Coronation until he retired to Calgary in 1970. Charlie was a lifetime member of the Lithuanian Society of Calgary.
Charlie will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews in Lithuania and by many friends in Calgary. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters in Lithuania.
Friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Cathedral (219 – 18th Avenue S.W.) on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
