Wesley Hendry

Obituary of Wesley William Hendry

Wesley Hendry, beloved husband of Sophie of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the age of 53 years. Wesley was born on January 27, 1951 in Lethbridge, AB. Wesley lived in Vancouver, Ottawa, Victoria, and later in Calgary where he met and married Sophie. He was kind and well loved by everyone he met, even in passing. He was a hard-working Entrepreneur who founded his company, I.E.S.C. in 1993 and was dedicated to his family above all. He enjoyed his volunteer work with the City of Calgary “Adopt a Park” program as well as the Heart and Stroke Foundation. His passions reflected what was once said by Thomas Jefferson: “I had rather be shut up in a very modest cottage with my books, my family and a few old friends, dining on simple bacon, and letting the world roll on as it liked, than to occupy the most splendid post, which any human power can give.” We love you dad. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Angela, Christopher, and Sean; his sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Tony Southwell of Victoria, BC; his brothers and sister-in-law, Wayne Hendry of Victoria, BC and Jim and Diane Hendry of Vancouver, BC; as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Wes was predeceased by his parents Roderick and Verne; and his infant brother John Mathew. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with the Very Rev. Gregory Coupal, V.F. presider. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
