Obituary of Anna Andrew

Anna “Irene” Andrew (nee Henderson) of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the age of 94 years. Irene was born on September 7, 1910 in Grayson, SK. She married Vernon Andrew in 1934 and they farmed in the Miniota District. She was a graduate of the Neepawa Hospital in Manitoba and worked as a Nurse during the war and later, in the sixties, at the Virden General Hospital. Irene has resided in Calgary since 1966. Her passions were knitting and reading. Irene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Florian Eilers of Eagle Bay, BC; her daughter-in-law Marjorie Andrew; her seven grandchildren, Debra Eilers, Mark Eilers and his wife Wanda, Drew Eilers, JoAnn Eilers, Scott Andrew and his wife Jennifer, Brock Andrew and his wife Andrea, and Blair Andrew and his wife Debbie; her sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as Sharon and Colleen; her sister Gladys Carefoot; and her nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her husband Vernon; her son Bob Andrew; her grandsons, Dean Eilers and Todd Andrew; and her two sisters Marion Henderson and Jean Lelond. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Virden Cemetery, MB at a later date.
