Obituary of Stewart Walter Johnston

Stewart Johnston of Calgary passed away at the Sarcee Hospice on Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the age of 89 years. Stewart was born on December 14, 1914 in Alsask, SK and was raised in Mantario, SK. He moved to Alberta in 1937 and began his career as a Trucker in the oil industry. Stewart married Gladys Wegener in 1942 in Calgary. Stewart is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Richard (Dick) and Susan Johnston; a daughter Sheila Johnston, all of Calgary; a grandson and his wife Stephen Johnston and Jolaine Antonio of Calgary; a granddaughter and her husband Jennifer and Sheldon Poje of Redcliff, AB; and two great-grandchildren Zachary and Cassidy Poje. Stewart was predeceased by his wife Gladys on September 20, 1997; two brothers, Sandy and Kenneth; and three sisters, Muriel, Annetta, and Elsie.
