Obituary of Deltha Vadnai

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend, Deltha “Adeline” Vadnai on Friday, November 5, 2004 at the Sarcee Carewest. Adeline was born in Prud’homme, SK on January 8, 1941. She attended the Technical Collegiate in Saskatoon, SK before moving to Calgary in 1959. She married Steve Frank Vadnai in 1962. Adeline worked for the Alberta Department of Justice until she was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1988. Adeline had an extraordinary passion for life and fought her illness with dignity, grace and strength. She will be forever remembered as an outstanding and dedicated mother who loved her family unconditionally. Adeline took great enjoyment in her family, especially her grandchildren: Devon, Evan, Lauren, Avery, Ava, and Samuel Aaron. Adeline is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen & Shelley and Les & Janice, her sisters, Ann of Calgary and Jennie of Seattle, WA, and her six grandchildren. Adeline was predeceased by her husband Steve in 1981, a brother, John, as well as her parents, Peter and Caroline. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Edmundo Vargas, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Adeline was faithfully attended to by her caregiver, Bosa.
