Obituary of Norman Sherriff
Norman Sherriff, beloved husband of Joan of Calgary, passed away quietly at the Colonel Belcher Care Centre on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at the age of 85 years.
Norman was born on December 25, 1918 in London, England. From 1962 to 1981 Norman was the Branch Manager in Red Deer, AB for Stevenson, Raines And Partners. He was the Supervising Architect for many public buildings including the college. Norman was very active in Kiwanis and Rotary during those years, He retired to work on his country home near Bowden, AB. Norman also served on the Red Deer Housing Authority during this time. In 1992, he and Joan moved to Sidney, B.C. In 2002, Norman went into extended care, so they moved to Calgary to be close to family.
Besides his loving wife Joan (nee McCuish), Norman is also survived by his son Eric, his daughter-in-law Valerie, and his grandchildren Hatley, Laurel, Garrett, and Colleen, all of Calgary. He was predeceased by his sister Nessie and his brothers, George and Alan.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Norman smoked for many years and this has been a leading factor in the poor health he suffered.
