Obituary of Marie Elizabeth Gilliland

Marie Gilliland died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at the age of 78 years. She was born on February 3, 1926 in King’s County, NB. Marie and her husband Eugene moved to Calgary in 1966. Her life focused on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her church. She will be sadly missed by her many dear friends who supported her with kindness through her illness. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her three children, Sharon Cameron, Donna O’Brien and Brian Gilliland; as well as eight grandchildren, Cathy Steinke, Susan Olson, Jennifer Cook, Elizabeth O’Brien-Suld, Allison O’Brien, Michael O’Brien, Kelly Gilliland, and Jason Gilliland; and by six great-grandchildren, Alondra and Mason Steinke, Brendan, Ellyssa, and Alexa Olson and Sophie Cook. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Gilliland in 1993. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Marie’s memory to one of her favorite charities, Mission of Mercy Canada (4104 – 97th Street, Edmonton, AB T6E 5Y6, Telephone, 1-877-485-5001, a registered Canadian charitable organization which operates an orphanage in Calcutta, India.
