Obituary of Neil Theodore Fluker

It is with great sorrow that Neil’s family announces his passing on Tuesday October 26, 2004 at the age of 73 years, after a five-year struggle with Alzheimer’s. Neil was born on September 25, 1931 in Ft. Saskatchewan, AB, and spent his life working in the oil fields of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Kansas and the Canadian Arctic. He was known for the twinkle in his eye and his gentle sense of humour. He is fondly remembered by his wife Clara, daughter Dr. Margo of Vancouver; son Craig and his wife Vicki; and beloved grandchildren, Janessa, Josh and Marissa. He is survived by his sister Jean and her husband Sherman Yelland; and his sisters-in-law Mary and Ruth. Neil was predeceased by his brothers Bernie and Mick. A Celebration of Neil’s Life will be held Saturday October 30, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street, S.E., Calgary) with Rev. Bryan D. Derksen officiating. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary Day Program (#201-222 58th Ave S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3), or to the McDougall United Church Memorial Fund (8516 Athabasca Street S.E. Calgary, AB T2H 1S1) or a charity of their choice.
