Morris Livergant

Obituary of Morris Livergant

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Morris Livergant on Friday, October 22, 2004. Morris passed away peacefully after bravely fighting a short illness. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of forty-seven years Marilyn; two children, Sheryl (Mark) and Joel (Samantha); three grandchildren, Richard, Max and Rachael; and his sister Annette (Pearl). Morris was predeceased by his parents Rose and Sam Livergant; and his sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Dave Shafer. “Zaida Dad” loved life and all that it had to offer. He had an incredible sense of humour and imagination where water towers became rocket ships and walks were “famous.” He was truly a wonderful and magical parent, grandparent and friend. Morris was born in Swift Current, SK and received a Masters Degree in History from the University of Saskatchewan. After obtaining his Law Degree he practiced in Calgary as an active member of the Law Society of Alberta until his retirement in 1981. His retirement allowed him the opportunity to enjoy his true passions, namely his grandchildren and love for Israel. He spent most of his time sharing many wonderful days with his grandchildren and their friends. Otherwise, he took every chance he had to travel to Israel where he truly felt at home. Dad, “Zaida Dad” is gone, but his magical memory lives on. Funeral Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel (1702 – 17 Avenue S.W.) on Sunday, October 24, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Beth Tzedec Memorial Park (122 Shalom Way S.W.). Arrangements in care of the CHEVRA KADISHA OF CALGARY, 1702 – 17th Avenue S.W., TELEPHONE: 244-4717. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
