Obituary of Lorraine Helen Smith
Lorraine Helen Smith (nee Ochitwa) passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 21, 2004 with her family by her side at the age of 61 years.
Beloved wife of Robert (Bob); mother of Heather (Michael), Glen (Yvonne), Ian (Robin); proud grandma of seven grandsons, Riley, Slater, Austin, Brandon, Tanner, MacKenzie and Devin; dear sister to Marlene Myer, Sharon Mair; her sister-in-law Marjory Ochitwa; as well as many relatives in Scotland, Canada and U.S.A. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Alice and Mike of Yorkton, SK and her brother John of Surrey, BC.
Lorraine was born on July 1, 1943 in Sherridon, MB. She lived her younger years in Lynn Lake, MB and worked as a secretary with Sherrit Gordon Mines, where she met Bob. They married on November 18, 1961 and eventually moved to Alberta where their children were born. In 1971 they founded Smith McLeay Coatings Ltd. and retired in 2000, moving to Victoria, BC where they spent three years, returning to Alberta and residing in the Bragg Creek area. Lorraine’s greatest hobbies were decorating her house, collecting “chickens”, sewing and her specialty, was cooking (especially for the grand-kids).
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
