Obituary of Helen Grace Akitt

Helen Grace Akitt, beloved wife of Dr. Donald J. Akitt of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at the age of 85 years. Helen was born in Winnipeg, MB on April 25, 1919. She was a happy-go-lucky person who was well liked by all who met her. Helen loved spending time with her family and though not active in sports herself, she was an avid sports spectator. Helen was an active member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church teaching Sunday school for many years, as well as various other groups in the community. Besides her loving husband, Helen is survived by her daughter Donna (Fred) Snell; her grandchildren, Diana Snell, Alex Snell, David Howard and Nicholas Howard. She is also survived by her two sisters, Mildred Miller and Bernice Small. Helen was predeceased by her other daughter, Louise Howard.
