Obituary of Gaetane Martel

Gaetane Martel (nee Caron) of Calgary, widow of the late Guy Martel, passed away at the AgapÚ Hospice on Monday, October 11, 2004 at the age of 78 years. Gaetane was born December 27, 1925 in QuÚbec City, QC. She married Guy in 1948 and moved to Alberta in 1950. Gaetane was employed with the Calgary Separate School Board and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Forest Lawn Branch #275. Gaetane is survived by her family, four sons and three daughters-in-law, Denis and Joan Martel, Michel (Mike) Martel, all of Red Deer, Pierre and Judy Martel of Didsbury, Felix and Karen Martel of Calgary; two daughters and a son-in-law, Madelaine, Lisa and Brian Wilkins of Calgary; and by eighteen grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Guy Martel in September 1969. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, October 15, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dominic Pham Van Bao OP officiating.
