Obituary of Donald Arthur Williams

Donald Williams of Calgary passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at the age of 94 years. Don had a long career with C.P. Hotels. He was the past manager of the Empress Hotel in Victoria, Banff Springs Hotel, Chateau Lake Louise, Royal Alexandra Hotel in Winnipeg, and the Algonquin Hotel in St. Andrews, NB. He retired from the position of General Manager of the Palliser Hotel in Calgary in 1979. Don was a member of the Calgary Golf and Country Club, a life member of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, honorary life member of the Calgary Hotel Association, member of the Shrine Al Azhar Temple Greeters, Past Director of the Royal Order of Jesters, Past President of the Skal Club of Calgary, and former member of the Calgary Downtown Rotary Club. Don is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Joanne Williams of Kanata, ON, and Jim and Marnie Williams of Calgary; three grandchildren, Stephen and Kelly Anne Williams of Moncton, NB, Kelly and Steve Roslinsky of Red Deer, and Scott Williams of Victoria, BC; three great-grandchildren, Bradley Roslinsky, Nicholas Williams, and Paige Roslinsky; and a sister Bea Chatwin of Winnipeg, MB. He was predeceased by his first wife Jean in 1970, and his second wife Mary in 1991.
