Obituary of Annie Winnifred Nicholls
Annie Winnifred Nicholls (nee Pickersgill) passed away at the Wentworth Court, Trafalgar Unit on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at the age of 88 years.
Annie was born in Yorkshire, England and came to Canada with her family in 1929 to settle in High River until moving to Calgary in 1939 where she had resided since. Married to Albert in 1939, they resided in the family home for sixty-two years. Known for her kindness and gentle approach, Annie was the ultimate homemaker and family supporter. She never missed recognizing a birthday or anniversary and enjoyed sharing news with all family members and overseas relatives. Annie had a quiet way of expressing her love for those around her and enjoyed all family activities including gardening, camping, and time together. She took great pride in knitting, sewing, baking and in special moments spent with her family. Music brought her much pleasure and enjoyment. A member of Daughters of the Nile, Annie enjoyed the annual pie making and fellowship. Annie and Albert enjoyed many wonderful vacations together while traveling with family, friends and at Al Azhar shrine events. We will miss her warm smile and calming presence.
Annie will be sadly missed by her daughter and son-in-law Marilyn and Jack Kerrison; her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Lynne Nicholls; four grandchildren, Jeff Nicholls, Debbie (Brian) Thiele, Al Kerrison, Kathy (Willie) Hillen; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Courtney Hillen, and Dylan Thiele. She will also be missed by her three remaining sisters; two brothers; their families; and her many nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her husband Albert Nicholls in 1998.
