Obituary of Margaret Helen Cooke

Margaret Helen Cooke (Cookie),(nee Gove), beloved wife of the late Charles Cooke of Calgary, passed away at the Sarcee Long Term Care Centre on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Margaret was born in Gordon Aberdeen, Scotland on January 29, 1918. The family immigrated to Lethbridge in the early 1920. Margaret married Leslie Roland Cunningham and gave birth to three sons. She later moved to Calgary and married Charles Cooke. In Calgary she managed the Woodward’s Cafeteria for many years where she was fondly nicknamed “Cookie”. She retired from Woodward’s in 1982. Margaret was a great sport fan and loved to go to Las Vegas. Margaret is survived by her children, Donald Cunningham, Robert Cunningham and Kenneth Cunningham; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Janet Cunningham, Kenneth Cunningham and Robert and Rosemary Cunningham, all of California; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother James Gove of Vancouver; and two sisters, Isabelle Sawchuck and Zena Sanders of Lethbridge. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Charles Cooke; two sisters; and two brothers.
