Obituary of Robert Andrew Johnston

Morley Johnston, beloved husband of Doreen of Kaslo, BC passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at the age of 76 years. Morley was born on June 28, 1928 in Calgary, AB, where he resided until retiring in 1988 to Kaslo, BC. Morley’s life’s work included, building highways, dams, pipelines and river crossings from British Columbia to Quebec. Two of his greatest achievements were running his own company and building his log home in Kaslo. Morley was a Director in the Reform Party since its inception in the West Kootnays; a member of the Operating Engineer’s Union 955, Past President of the Kaslo Boat Club, the Elks, and Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Besides his loving wife Doreen, Morley leaves behind two daughters, Pat (Keith), and Diane (Dan); two sons, Andy (Sheila), and Charlie (Marilee); six grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Tara, Scott, Kaitlyn, and Kyle; as well as many relatives and friends. A Family Service was held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel on Saturday, September 25, 2004.
