Obituary of Ian Nicholas Taylor
Ian Nicholas Taylor, beloved son of Nick and Peg Taylor, passed away in Ottawa after a short illness on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at the age of 47 years.
Ian lived in Calgary for thirty years. He was educated at Bishop Carroll Senior High School and at the University of Calgary. In the 1980’s and 1990’s he worked for non-governmental foreign-aid agencies in Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Philippines, Chad, and Sudan. For the last ten years he worked with the First Nations and MÚtis Groups of Canada. Ian enjoyed climbing and sailing; he also had a passion for reading and studies.
He is survived by two sons, Zin of Guelph, ON and Christopher of Montreal, QC; his parents Nick and Peg Taylor; seven sisters and a brother; Sarah, Susan, Alison, Sheila, Cayt, Jennifer, Patrice, and Terrance; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Road N.E.) on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert M. Kasun CSB, Presider. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
