Obituary of Michael Terrance Mulgrew

Michael Terrance (Terry) Mulgrew finished his race on Wednesday, September 22, 2004. Terry was born in Calgary on April 13, 1941. Terry’s working life was devoted to thoroughbred racing. He was a groom, exercise boy, trainer, and owner. One of his proudest accomplishments came when his horse Whistling Sea won the Queen’s Plate – the first western bred to win that race. Terry is survived by two sons, Russel John and Shawn Patrick and their mother Carole. He is also survived by four sisters, Elaine (Jim) Howie, Joan (Carl) Metz, Marie Martin, and Kathleen (Karl) Spielman; a brother Patrick (Lucy) Mulgrew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Terry was predeceased by his father, mother and three brothers. “Don’t weep for me for I am free and following the course God set for me.” Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, September 26, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev.
