Obituary of William F. Harder
William (Bill) F. Harder, entered into the presence of His Lord and Saviour on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the age of 86 years.
Bill was born on August 16, 1918 in Aberdeen, SK. He served his country by joining the armed forces during the Second World War. After being honorably discharged, Bill married Margaret in January of 1944 and enrolled in Briercrest Bible Institute soon after. In addition to ministry, he worked as an auctioneer, warehouseman, salesman, businessman, and entrepreneur and during his later years prior to his retirement as a commissionaire. Those who knew him well considered his greatest achievement to be his service to God. Much of his life was focused on prayer, particularly during his retirement. At times his prayer list numbered into the thousands that he followed up with on a regular basis. This much beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend will be sadly missed.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Margaret (Wiebe); his children, Ken (Irma), Paul, Silas (Kathy), Bernice, Brenda Verwey, Jacqueline, Charles (Lynn), Cecil (Cheryl), James (Dawn Marie), Julie (Jim) Malakos, Carol (Willie) Heflin, and Bradley. He is also survived by three sisters, Susan Jansen, Justina Deorksen and Agatha (Peter) Redecopp; twenty-six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
