Obituary of Isabel Gilvray

Isabel Gilvray passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre where she had resided for the past nine months. Isabel came to Canada as a War Bride in 1945 and her parents joined her in 1947. Her mother predeceased her in 1959 and her father in 1974. Isabel worked for the Workers Compensation Board for thirty-two years, retiring in 1982. Many close friends and good neighbors surrounded Isabel. Her many acts of kindness, creativity, her personal and spiritual strengths will be greatly missed. Sincere appreciation is extended to Marlies Bijou for companionship and for the care given to Isabel by the Bethany Staff on level 2 South. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY, Chapel of the Bells, (2720 Centre Street North), on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Johnston officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Crescent Heights Baptist Church, 1212 – 1 Street N.W., Calgary, T2M 2S3 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
