Obituary of Alan Stuart McLean
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stuart McLean on Monday, September 20, 2004. He was taken after a short battle with cancer just past his 78th birthday.
Stuart was a Petroleum Landman for many years. He was a member of the Petroleum Club, Glencoe Club, Calgary Golf and Country Club, South Calgary Rotary Club, 78th Fraser Highlanders, Elks Club, Alberta Light Horse Association, Pony Club, Southern Alberta Oldtimers Association, Cheine de Rottiseures, Outrigger Canoe Club (Hawaii), and the United States Navy League (Hawaii). He was a man who enjoyed being involved. Stuart enjoyed his summers at the Shuswap and winters in Hawaii. He loved the twenty-two years he lived at Priddis. He lived life to the fullest and loved a party.
Besides his loving wife Pamela, Stuart is survived by his children, Dawn McLean of Sherwood Park; Rawn (Tim) Sexsmith of Priddis; Rod Stewart and Kim Stewart, both of Calgary; and Jonathan (Brenda) McLean of Vancouver; his seven grandchildren, Nadine and Spencer Stewart, Dan Bourque, Logan and Tyson Sexsmith, Bryce and Kelsey McLean. Stuart is also remembered by his sisters, Marjorie Lyon; Edith (Walt) Anderson; and Joyce (Derrick) Stannard; his brother Keith (Pat) McLean; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Stuart was predeceased by his parents and brother Donald.
Memorial Service will be held at Living Spirit United Church (formerly Riverview United Church) (900 – 47th Avenue S.W.) on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
