Obituary of Robert Emmett Smith

Robert (Bob) Emmett Smith, beloved husband of Anne Smith of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, September 17, 2004 at the age of 79 years. Bob was born on June 26, 1925 in Lundbreck, AB. He served in WW II with the RCAF as an Officer and later during peace years as a Corporal, retiring in 1966 in Chatham, NB. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Chaplehow Branch #284 for many years. Besides his loving wife Anne, Bob is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Smith of Calgary, Tony and Angie of Bow Island, AB and Wayne and Debbie of Calgary; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Horel of Calgary; eight grandchildren, Dana and Craig Horel, Avory and Madison Smith, Meagan Smith, and Alexa, Jordan and MacKenzie Smith. He is also survived by a brother Leo Smith of Calgary. Bob was predeceased by his sisters and brothers. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow in the “Field of Honour” at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
