Obituary of Arthur James Guthrie

Arthur James (Jim) Guthrie, beloved husband of Irene Riediger, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at the age of 61 years. Jim was born on July 5, 1943 in Regina, SK. He worked for many years in the confectionary industry – the past ten years as Western Regional Sales Manager for Regal Confections. Due to ill health he retired in June of 2004. Prior to moving to Calgary, Jim lived and worked in Winnipeg. Dedicated to his community, Jim coached minor hockey for over twenty years in the St. James area of Winnipeg. He also enjoyed fishing as often as possible during the summer months before hockey took over in the winter months. Jim had a passion for the game of golf, both as a player and fan, but his greatest love was for his family. He enjoyed traveling and he and Irene took several trips so that he could enjoy another game of golf or simply to visit with family and friends. Besides his loving wife Irene, Jim is survived by his children, Shelley Guthrie, Cindy Wilson and Gary of Winnipeg, MB, Rob Guthrie of Kenora, ON, and Kelley Neiszner and Brian of Weyburn, SK; four grandchildren, Samantha Wilson, Lindsay Wilson, Rebecca Neiszner, and Austin Neiszner; and extended family, Greg Reimer, Lisa (Blake) Moodie, Andrew Reimer, and Hanna and Maya Moodie, all of Calgary.
