Obituary of Anton Kuzmicz
Anton (Tony) Kuzmicz of Cochrane passed away at his home on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the age of 53 years.
Tony was born on August 8, 1951 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He came to Canada in June of 1956 with his parents and sister, settling in Calgary. Tony attended Mountain View and Forrest Lawn Schools and later Mount Royal College and University of Calgary. He married Maureen on February 14, 1976 and moved to Irricana to raise their children in a quieter setting. Tony worked for CP Rail until an unfortunate accident changed his career. He was very musical and self taught to play various instruments. Through his love of Old Time Music and Blue Grass, Tony traveled to many places, one of his favorite being Smithville , TN, to compete and win in the national Auto Harp and Banjo Championships. Tony always had a great sense of humor and strength of character to over come all adversities.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Rhonda Kuzmicz and Jason Bachmeier of Calgary; his son, Mark Kuzmicz of Irricana; and his mother, Jean Kuzmicz of Calgary. He is also survived by one sister, Yvonne (Gordon) Saunders, of Calgary; his aunt and uncle Lothe and Stan Yassinsky; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada and Scotland.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
