Obituary of Arnold George Burnie

Arnold George Burnie passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB on Thursday, September 9, 2004, at the age of 68 years. Arnold was born in MacGregor, MB and raised in Winnipeg, MB in the St. James area. Arnold joined Trans Canada Airlines (Air Canada) in 1953 in Winnipeg, later he transferred to Saskatoon and then to Calgary where he retired in 1991 with over thirty-eight continuous years of dedicated service. Arnold was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be sorrowfully missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May you rest in a peaceful place where you will be bestowed with the eternal joy that you so deserve. Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Alice Burnie (nee Sherman); mother, Pearl Haas (nee Little); daughter and son-in-law Janis and Denis Desjardins; son Craig Arnold Burnie; daughter, Karen King and her fiancÚ (Jesse Blackwell); granddaughter Jill; and great granddaughter, Shaylin. A Memorial Service for Arnold will be held at Symons Valley United Church, 183 Beddington Drive NE, on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 4:30pm. A reception to follow at a location to be announced.
